In the summer months, visitors can indulge in a variety of activities, such as hiking in the nearby mountains, soaking in the hot springs, or exploring the Echigo Sake Museum Ponshukan. The easiest way to get around in Echigo Yuzawa is by car, but most major sights and attractions are accessible by a combination of trains and busses. Public transportation:
To get from Tokyo to Echigo Yuzawa by public transportation, travelers need to take a train. There are two options available, the Shinkansen (bullet train) and the regular train. Detailed instructions are as follows:
Bullet Train: Take the JR Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Regular Train: Take the JR Takasaki Line from Ueno Station or Tokyo Station to Takasaki Station. Transfer to the JR Joetsu Line and continue to Echigo-Yuzawa Station. The total journey takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes.
