The easiest way around Miyajima is on foot, since the major sights and attractions are within walking distance from each other.

Public transportation:

To get from Hiroshima to Miyajima by public transportation, travellers have the following options:

  • Option 1: Bullet Train:

    1. First, take the JR Sanyo Shinkansen from Hiroshima Station to Shin-Iwakuni Station. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes.

    2. Transfer to the JR Sanyo Main Line and take the local train to Miyajimaguchi Station. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes." (The total travel time is approximately 55 minutes.)

  • Option 2: Regular Train:

    1. First, take the JR Sanyo Main Line from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

    2. Transfer to the JR Miyajima Ferry and take the ferry to Miyajima Island. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes." (The total travel time is approximately 40 minutes.)
