The easiest way to get around in Amakusa & Kami-Amakusa is by car, since many of the major sights and attractions are not accessible by public transportation.Though, since Amakusa and Kami Amakusa are located very rurally, it is best to rent a car ahead from one of the bigger destinations close by. We recommend staying in Amakusa and Kami Amakusa for about one day.

The hiking season in this area typically runs from Spring until Autumn.

Beaches:
The swimming season on mainland Japan is usually between July and August.
