The easiest way to get around the Goishi Coast is by car, but most major sights and attractions are accessible by a combination of trains and busses. Though, travelers will have to rely on single tickets or a prepaid card, since no special train or bus passes are provided within this area.

Public transportation:
To get from Sendai to Goishi Coast by public transportation, travelers need to take a train and a bus. Detailed instructions are as follows:
Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen from Sendai Station to Ichinoseki Station. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
Transfer to the JR Ofunato Line at Ichinoseki Station and continue to Kesennuma Station. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
From Kesennuma Station, take the Shizugawa Rias Line bus bound for Goishi Kaigan and get off at the Goishi Kaigan bus stop. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Car rentals:
We recommend staying at the Goishi Coast for about half a day.
