Near Mount Fuji is the small city of Kofu. For the history buffs, visit Takeda Shingen and learn about the history of the Takeda clan, which played a part in ending the age of warring states. Be sure not to forget to stop at one of the many wineries and try a few different vintages.
The easiest way to get around in Kofu is by car, but most major sights and attractions are accessible by a combination of trains and busses. If you decide to rent a car, it is advised to do so from the nearest airport in the vicinity. You can use our car rental widget in the FAQ menu below.
