Getting around in Ikaho Onsen

The easiest way around Ikaho Onsen is on foot, since the major sights and attractions are within walking distance from each other. Though, some sights are located a bit further ahead, where a car or bus might be necessary. If you decide to rent a car, it is advised to do so from the nearest airport in the vicinity. Getting to Ikaho Onsen

Public transportation:

Travelers who come by train will have to transfer at Shibukawa station. From there, it is about 25 - 30 minutes to Ikaho Onsen and about one hour to Lake Haruna. Be advised that buses run infrequent in this area. For up-to-date bus schedules, we recommend syncing Google Maps with our customized map above (to do this: click the top right icon on the map to expand to full screen, and select a route between your destination and your current destination).

The nearest and most convenient airport is Haneda Airport in Tokyo. 

  • by car: approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes

  • by public transport: approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes

  • by public transport (partly with bullet-train): approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes
