Getting around in Nishi Izu and Matsuzaki

The easiest way around Nishi Izu and Matsuzaki is by car, since many of the major sights and attractions are relatively far apart from each other. Though, there are only busses within the area, some sights are reachable by public transport.

If you decide to rent a car, it is advised to do so from the nearest airport in the vicinity. You can use our car rental widget in the FAQ menu below. 

Getting to Nishi Izu and Matsuzaki

Public transportation:

Travelers who come by train will have to transfer at Mishima station. From there, it is between 1 hour and a half and two hours by bus to most sights within Nishi Izu and Matsuzaki. Be advised that buses run infrequent in this area. The nearest and most convenient airport is Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
